CV and Experience
PD Dr Tobias Engl, MD, was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1971.
After graduating from secondary school, he took up his medical studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz in 1990, where he also earned his doctorate. After a one-year assignment at the Clinic for General and Abdominal Surgery of the St. Vincenz Hospital in Mainz (mentored by Prof Dr M. Stahlschmidt), he focused his medical training on urology at the Clinic for Urology and Paediatric Urology of the University Clinic in Frankfurt, mentored by Prof Dr Dietger Jonas.
Soon afterward, he began to set up his research project to determine the extension and spreading of prostate carcinoma. In 2004 Dr Engl was certified as urologist specialist doctor, and in 2006 he was promoted to consultant urologist finishing his habilitation thesis in the same year. On 7 December 2006, Dr Engl was appointed lecturer for urology and named "Private Docent".
PD Dr Engl has published more than 20 scientific papers, written numerous medical articles and given a number of speeches at various conferences.
In his medical career, Dr Engl has focused primarily on diagnosing and treating prostate carcinoma. Additionally, he concentrates on treating female and male urinary incontinence.
